The first guest to notice when entering your home is the entryway or foyer. This small area is the main entrance to your home and is also the place where the children dump their school bags, leave you behind work paper and all take off their shoes and jackets. Entryway coat rack and storage bench ideas give it space a more organized and clean look.
Go Big and Antique
A large antique clothes hanger gives you plenty of room for storage and provides extra seating. Look for the larger pieces that have bench seating and storage beneath. Use hidden storage for out-of-season boots and jackets. The top of the rack contains metal hooks for hanging gowns, jackets and hats. The pieces also contain a long shelf at the top for display collections and decorative pieces. Use extra space to decorate for holidays. During Christmas, a Christmas village shows on top or some of your favorite Christmas decorations from previous years. Change the decorations when the seasons change.
Take it to Walls
Galleries don’t have to be a stationary object in the middle of your yard. Instead of picking a wooden piece, use individual racks hung on the wall. House suggests using horns of different sizes and displaying them as a coat and hat shelf. If you can’t find hooves, use metal racks of different sizes and shapes. Use a large rack in the center of the display, and hang it near the ceiling to show a single piece. Place two more hooks, place a hook on either side of the larger one, but slightly lower on the wall. Keep adding more hooks, making each set a little lower, to create a step effect.
